The directive 2002/95/EG of the European Parliament and the Council with date of the 27th January 2003 and the due date 01st of July 2006 shall serve the reduction of hazardous substances in electric or electronic equipment. The following substances have been defined as hazardous:
  • mercury
  • lead
  • cadmium
  • hexavalent chromium
  • polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
  • polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)
Regarding the reduction or complete avoidance of the above mentioned substances it is spoken of "ROHS-compliant" in the electronic manufacture, which has been established generally as abbreviaton from the title of the directive: "Reduction of Hazardous Substances".

What is meant by ROHS-compliant?
Electric or electronic assemblies are ROHS-compliant, when the a. m. substances do not exceed a conzentration of more than 0,1% regarding the total weight of the suited material or substitute materials.

When did we convert?
From October 2003 the Dorazil Mikro-Elektronik GmbH was scheduling to observe the directive, all necessary conversion steps and internal changes are completed since the date of 10th October 2005.

Exceptions:
For all customers whose products are affected by an exception rule related to the directive, Dorazil Mikro-Elektronik GmbH is able to manufacture not ROHS-compliant as well as before.
